Hello, are you trying to install a WordPress theme? Okay if you are a beginner, so I will show you how to install WordPress step by step. There are lots of available free and paid WordPress themes in the WordPress theme directory. This process is applicable to both free and premium themes.
Hence I will show two different way to install a WordPress theme.
Install a Theme using WordPress Admin Theme Search
If you want to install a free WordPress theme, you have to install the theme from WordPress.org themes directory. The easiest way to install a theme by using the WordPress admin panel search functionality. At first, you login to your WordPress admin Dashboard area and next click on Appearance » Themes.
Now you are on theme Page click Add New button.
Now you can select from: Featured WordPress themes, Popular WordPress themes, Latest WordPress themes, search for a specific Favorites theme or search for themes with specific features Filter.
In this case, we’ll search for Bloglane or Creativeily Blogging theme.
After searching, you will see a single theme or a list of themes.
When you choose the theme, simply bring your mouse on top of the image. This will reveal the install and preview button. Go ahead and click on the install button.
Next click on the activate button, and you’ve successfully installed and activated your WordPress theme.
Note: After installation, it may add additional settings options that you may need to configure either through the theme customizer or through a WordPress admin panel.
Using Upload Method from WordPress Admin
The first method only allows you to install free themes that are available in the WordPress.org theme’s directory. But if you want to install “premium” WordPress theme from companies like StudioPress, ThemeLab, iThemes, etc.
Or if you want to install a custom theme, then, you would need to install the theme using the upload method from your WordPress admin panel.
Download the theme file that you purchased from a marketplace or a commercial theme provider.
Next login to your WordPress Dashboard area and click on Appearance » Themes.
On the themes page, you’ll see the Add New button at the top. Click on this button.
Now you have to add a theme, click on the Upload Theme button at the top.
Click on Browse… to choose the zip file that you downloaded earlier. Select the file and click on Install Now button.
After theme installation, you will see a success message.
Click on the activate button.
Now you’ve successfully installed and activated your WordPress theme.
